On November 6, 2005, Dark Matter: Reading the Bones, an anthology of science fiction and fantasy by black writers, received the World Fantasy Award. The anthology is the second in a series conceived and edited by Sheree R. Thomas and published by Warner Aspect. The first anthology in the series, Dark Matter: a Century of Speculative Fiction from the African Diaspora, won a World Fantasy Award in 2001.
